High-Temperature Coating up to 760 °C: CP4000-S2-HT Protects Metal and Technical Surfaces from Extreme Heat

Fire- and heat-resistant silicone glass-ceramic coating from KAGER for industrial high-temperature applications

When conventional paints and coatings reach their thermal limits, specialised high-temperature coatings are required. With CP4000-S2-HT, KAGER offers a powerful fire- and heat-resistant silicone glass-ceramic coating designed for the long-term thermal protection of technical surfaces. The black one-component coating withstands continuous operating temperatures of up to 760 °C and also provides excellent resistance to thermal cycling.

Dietzenbach, Germany, August 2026 – High process temperatures, rapid temperature changes and continuous thermal exposure can place extreme demands on metal components, industrial equipment and technical surfaces. Conventional silicone resin paints and powder coatings often reach their performance limits under these conditions.

For demanding high-temperature applications, KAGER Industrieprodukte offers CP4000-S2-HT, a specialised silicone glass-ceramic high-temperature coating. Once cured, the one-component system forms a temperature-resistant protective layer suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

Continuous high-temperature protection up to 760 °C

CP4000-S2-HT is designed to withstand continuous temperatures of up to 760 °C (1,400 °F). Its thermal cycling resistance extends to as much as 981 °C (1,798 °F).

This makes the coating particularly suitable for components and surfaces exposed not only to high operating temperatures but also to repeated heating and cooling cycles.

The coating can be used as a thermal protective barrier for suitable technical surfaces, components and assemblies. High-temperature surface protection can help protect thermally stressed components, extend service life and reduce maintenance requirements.

Choosing the appropriate high-temperature coating can therefore contribute to improved process reliability, equipment availability and long-term product quality.

High-temperature coating for a wide range of industries

CP4000-S2-HT can be used across numerous industries and technical applications. KAGER supplies this specialised high-temperature coating for applications including:

  • automotive and vehicle manufacturing
  • industrial furnace construction
  • boiler and plant engineering
  • power generation and energy technology
  • aerospace applications
  • heating and thermal systems
  • lighting technology
  • chemical and process engineering
  • foundries and metal processing
  • industrial high-temperature processes

Wherever suitable technical or metal surfaces require long-term protection against extreme temperatures, CP4000-S2-HT can provide an effective coating solution.

One-component system for convenient application

One of the practical advantages of CP4000-S2-HT is its one-component formulation. Unlike multi-component coating systems, no complicated mixing process is required before application.

The black coating has a viscosity of approximately 150 to 500 mPa·s, providing practical handling and application characteristics.

If dilution is required, T-butyl acetate can be used as the thinner.

CP4000-S2-HT can be processed at normal ambient temperatures between approximately 10 °C and 30 °C (50–86 °F). The coating has a drying time of approximately one hour and typically cures at room temperature within 24 to 48 hours.

For longer-term storage, a temperature range of approximately 4.5 °C to 30 °C (40–86 °F) is recommended.

Why professional advice matters when selecting a high-temperature coating

Maximum temperature resistance alone does not determine whether a coating is suitable for a particular industrial application. Other important factors include the substrate material, surface preparation, temperature cycles, environmental conditions, process atmosphere and the required function of the protective layer.

For this reason, KAGER recommends selecting high-temperature coatings according to the specific operating conditions of each application.

The technical specialists at KAGER Industrieprodukte GmbH support customers in selecting suitable heat-resistant coatings and provide advice on application, processing and high-temperature performance.

Another advantage, particularly for R&D, prototype manufacturing, maintenance and small production runs: KAGER can supply many specialised products in small quantities.

CP4000-S2-HT – high-temperature surface protection for demanding industrial applications

Combining continuous temperature resistance up to 760 °C, thermal cycling resistance up to 981 °C and convenient one-component processing, CP4000-S2-HT provides a versatile solution for numerous industrial high-temperature applications.

The silicone glass-ceramic coating is particularly suitable wherever technical surfaces require reliable protection against continuous thermal exposure and severe temperature fluctuations.

KAGER supports industrial customers in selecting the appropriate high-temperature coating – from development and testing to maintenance and series production.

Removable KAGER Mounting Adhesives Simplify Temporary Component Fixing

Securely position components, move them through manufacturing or testing processes and then remove the bond without leaving residues: the specialty mounting adhesives from the KAGER Adhesive Line are designed specifically for temporary bonding applications. Available in five versions with thermal flow points ranging from 49 °C to 150 °C, they provide a practical alternative to mechanical fixtures, clamping devices and complex mounting systems.

Mounting adhesives for temporary and removable bonds

Conventional industrial adhesives are generally designed to create strong and permanent bonds. KAGER removable mounting adhesives follow a different principle: they are used to temporarily fix and accurately position components for a defined period of time.

Typical applications include:

  • Prototype manufacturing
  • Model and sample construction
  • Testing technology
  • Test bench construction
  • Pre-assembly
  • Design and product development
  • Temporary fixing during manufacturing and machining processes

Components can therefore be held in position without requiring complex mechanical assembly followed by subsequent disassembly.

Five versions with flow points from 49 °C to 150 °C

KAGER supplies these specialty adhesives in stick form and in five different versions. Depending on the grade, their thermal flow points range from 49 °C to 150 °C.

The mounting adhesive is heated before being applied to the required surface.

It can be used for temporary fixing on:

  • Ceramic surfaces
  • Glass
  • Metal surfaces

After application, the adhesive develops good adhesion and bonding strength, enabling components to remain securely positioned during subsequent operations.

Fix, process and transport components – then release the bond

One of the key characteristics of KAGER mounting adhesives is their reversibility. Bonded components can pass safely through different stages of a production or testing process or be transported between individual processing stations.

When the temporary bond is no longer required, it can be deactivated by reheating.

The special formulation is designed to protect sensitive surfaces, while the mounting adhesive can be removed without leaving residues after use.

This makes the technology particularly suitable wherever a bond is required only during specific manufacturing, testing, development or presentation stages.

Cost-effective alternative to clamping fixtures and profile systems

Temporary component fixing often requires mechanical aids such as clamps, frames, holders or profile systems. These solutions can require additional space and may involve considerable design effort and cost.

KAGER temporary mounting adhesives provide a straightforward and cost-effective alternative. Depending on the application, additional mechanical fastening components can be avoided.

Another advantage is that the adhesive does not interfere with the visual appearance of a pre-assembled component. This makes the mounting adhesives suitable for presentations, design models and trade fair exhibits as well.

Key benefits of KAGER mounting adhesives

  • Temporary and removable component fixing
  • Five versions for different requirements
  • Thermal flow points from 49 °C to 150 °C

Specialty adhesives from the KAGER Adhesive Line

The removable mounting adhesives form part of the KAGER Adhesive Line, a product range aimed particularly at design engineers, product developers, production specialists and maintenance professionals.

In addition to mounting adhesives, the Adhesive Line includes a selection of industrial adhesives, repair compounds and potting compounds for demanding technical applications, including products for operating temperatures of more than 500 °C.

Products from the KAGER Adhesive Line are also available in small quantities.

KAGER mounting adhesives are therefore an attractive solution wherever components need to be securely positioned but a permanent adhesive bond is specifically not required.
