Product- and process-related thermal indicators by KAGER

Self-adhesive temperature indicators for reliable monitoring and documentation

Reliable temperature monitoring is a key factor in industrial quality assurance and process safety. KAGER offers a comprehensive range of self-adhesive temperature indicator strips and films with irreversible visual display – enabling clear, tamper-proof monitoring without electronics.

Two product groups are currently in particularly high demand: Tempstrip and Thermoscale. While both serve temperature monitoring purposes, they differ significantly in functionality and application focus.

🔹 Tempstrip – precise temperature monitoring at defined points

Tempstrip indicators cover a temperature range from 29 °C to 260 °C and are available as flexible strips or measurement dots. Typical applications include:

  • Manufacturing and assembly
  • Quality control and testing
  • Product development
  • Logistics and transport monitoring

They are available with 5-, 6-, 8- or 10-level scales and provide an irreversible color change, ensuring permanent documentation of exceeded temperature thresholds.

Key benefits:

  • Accuracy up to 100 °C: ±1 °C, above ±1 %
  • Easy handling, no power supply required
  • Tamper-proof visual documentation
  • Custom designs available on request
  • Supplied as strips, dots, or roll goods

🔹 Thermoscale – visualizing temperature distribution across surfaces

Thermoscale multilayer films are designed for process-related temperature profiling in a range from 150 °C to 210 °C. They are ideal for applications such as:

  • Process and simulation chambers
  • Drying ovens and machine housings
  • Pressure rollers and functional surfaces
  • Lamination, photovoltaic and bonding processes

🔬 How it works: Microcapsule color technology

Thermoscale films contain a microcapsule layer that reacts to heat by creating a permanent color gradient, ranging from light blue to deep red. Color intensity reflects both temperature level and exposure time.

Advantages:

  • Clear visualization of heat distribution
  • No measuring devices or complex setups required
  • Extremely thin – suitable for curved surfaces
  • Available as 5 m rolls or single sheets (270 × 200 mm)

🔹 One portfolio – extreme temperature coverage

Tempstrip and Thermoscale are part of KAGER’s extensive range of reversible and irreversible temperature indicators, including additional strips, films, temperature paints and specialty crayons.

➡️ In total, KAGER solutions cover temperatures from –17 °C up to +1,270 °C.

Conductive and Form-Fit Connections Without Soldering

Conductive adhesives and thermal interface materials from KAGER for advanced electronics assembly

In modern electronics and microelectronics manufacturing, bonding is increasingly replacing soldering. Especially for temperature-sensitive components, electrically conductive adhesives offer clear advantages: low curing temperatures, mechanical flexibility, and long-term reliability under vibration and thermal stress.

Advantages of conductive adhesives

Conductive bonding enables electrical, thermal, and mechanical connections without exposing components to high soldering temperatures. Typical benefits include:

  • protection of sensitive substrates
  • suitability for microelectronics and sensors
  • excellent performance in high-temperature environments
  • vibration-resistant connections

High-temperature conductive adhesive Pyro-Duct 597 A

The silver-filled Pyro-Duct 597 A is a high-performance conductive adhesive featuring:

  • electrical resistance: 0.0002 Ω/cm
  • operating range: –55 °C to +927 °C
  • single-component system without organic resins or solvents
  • two-stage curing process

It is widely used for wire and wafer bonding in extreme thermal applications. The matching conductive coating Pyro-Duct 597 C is also available.

Cost-efficient conductivity with nickel: Pyro-Duct 598 A/C

The Pyro-Duct 598 A/C epoxy adhesive uses nickel flakes instead of precious metals, delivering excellent electro-thermal performance at lower cost:

  • temperature resistance up to 538 °C
  • thermal conductivity: 2.6 W/m·K
  • volume resistivity: < 0.005 Ω/cm

Applications include solar cell assemblies, high-temperature sensors, and electronic circuits.

Thermal grease for optimized heat dissipation

Efficient thermal management is essential in electronic assemblies. The Heat-Away 641 thermal compound offers:

  • high thermal and electrical conductivity
  • temperature range: –51 °C to +290 °C
  • easy application by brush
